Make hay while the sun shines…

…meaning, make the most of your opportunities, while you can…
I tend to repeat this saying to myself on those days when I have a very large to do list or procrastination is at the top of my list.

When I repeat this saying to myself it fills me with both inspiration and dread at the same time….In the sense that I am enthusiastic to get going with my day and fit in all my “to dos” with crazy energy but I also know what I am like and I always think I can squeeze more into my day than is possible. At the end of the day when I feel so proud of myself for achieving so much, I know that the next day I will be exhausted due to over doing it and pushing myself too hard. It means that all that hard work was for nothing as I can’t relax and enjoy the next day….I just crash out!
I have realised that although the saying is to do what you can now, you have to be sensible about it, know when enough is enough. You can always pick up tomorrow or another day what you couldn’t do today. If you use up all your energy reserves today, then what will you have left for tomorrow…
